About Me
I’m Seamus. I’ve spent about 20 years in hosting, infrastructure and security, and I’m based in Sydney.
I started out in Australian web hosting, and have since worked across managed hosting, cloud and datacentres. That’s meant everything from racks, SANs and network gear through to the certification work needed to run various workloads under multiple frameworks.
These days I consult on security and infrastructure, usually with Essential Eight, ISM or DISP as the target. Most of my time goes on:
- Identity and access: AD, Entra ID, Conditional Access, PIM with approval workflows, and tightening up MFA
- Endpoint security: Intune, Autopilot, SOE builds, hardening baselines and application control (WDAC)
- Patching and compliance: automated patching across servers and endpoints, so every device is patched, enforced and reportable, not just enrolled
- Network access: PKI, RADIUS and 802.1X across corporate wireless and wired OT networks, plus ZTNA to retire legacy VPNs
- OT and air-gapped environments: the infrastructure behind BMS, EMS and physical security systems, including datacentres with no outside connectivity
- Azure: environments built on the Well-Architected Framework, and moving internal apps across
I like security that’s practical: controls that actually get deployed, documented and kept running, not just box ticking exercises.
